The Venice Lido is a great base to explore the islands and sites of Venice and a fabulous place to relax. Flying into the airport we moved quickly through customs and were whisked onto a water taxi (speedboat to you and I) where we enjoyed the views and sunshine on the way to our hotel.

About 30 minutes later we arrived at the Westin Excelsior, situated on the Venice Lido, and the experience began with a 3 course buffet lunch overlooking the beach and the Adriatic.
